FAQ about our sports massage course

Find the answers to the most frequently asked questions from prospective students of our massage therapy school.

What are the core lessons of your sports massage training?

The Kine I (Sports Massage) course prepares students to practice as massage therapists with a specialization in sports massage. Upon completion of both levels of Kine I and Kine II training, students will be qualified to administer therapeutic massage in clinical, professional and sports settings. This 305-hour Level 1 course is divided into three components:

— Theoretical courses in sports anatomy, physiology, pathology and psychology offered in our kinesitherapy and massage therapy school in Montreal.

— Practical courses enabling you to apply the various therapeutic techniques of sports massage.

— Supervised internships in clinics and at sporting events

Can I work in Quebec directly after graduating from the program?

The Kine I (Sports Massage) course offered by our massage therapy institute qualifies students for a level 1 certificate. This certificate grants access to the Kine II (Kinesitherapy) course.

Who is the Kine I (Sports Massage) course for?

In general, the courses offered by IKRA Academy of Massage Therapy are open to everyone and offered in English and French.

The Kine I (Sports Massage) course is designed for intermediate-level massage therapists who wish to diversify their massage techniques. Beginners are also welcome. However, in order to register for the Kine I (Sports Massage) course, students must have completed the Swedish Massage I.

What other courses are offered at IKRA Academy of Massage?

In addition to sports massage certification, IKRA offers a wide range of massage therapy programs and workshops at its three Montreal campuses.

From introductory workshops in trigger point massage therapy to advanced reflexology courses, we have training that will meet your aspirations. Our programs are designed to give you the knowledge and practical experience you need to be a successful massage therapist.
